Frequently asked questions
What exactly is an AI agent skill? +
A skill is a structured configuration file that tells an AI agent how to handle a recurring task: a system prompt defining its role and output format, a user message template with variables, and metadata for installation. Think of it as a function you import into your agent instead of re-explaining the task every time.
Do I need an account to browse? +
No. Every page, including full skill details and free skill configs, is publicly browsable. Sign-in (Google or GitHub) is only required for exporting, bookmarking and private workspace features.
How does the free daily quota work? +
Free accounts get 5 exports per day, reset at 00:00 UTC. Exports from the library and from the online editor share the same quota. Monthly and Yearly Pro have no limits.
What is inside a pro-tier template preview? +
Pro-tier template pages show the full structure — sections, variables, install steps — with the actual prompt values redacted. The complete, unredacted file is only served to Pro members through the authenticated export endpoint.
How do I cancel my subscription? +
Open your dashboard → Overview → "Renew / cancel". This opens the payment portal where you can cancel, change plans or update payment details. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
Can I use skills commercially? +
Yes. Skills are licensed CC BY 4.0: use them in commercial products, just keep the attribution metadata. Skills you build in the editor are entirely yours.
Does SkillVault run AI models? +
No. SkillVault only provides configuration templates and never proxies any AI inference. Your prompts run on the platform you import them into, under your own account.
Can I contribute my own skills? +
Absolutely — build them in the online editor, export the .aiskill file, and publish it anywhere. Pro members can keep drafts in a private vault; contact us to submit skills for the public library.
